The storage facility investor is someone who has learned that sometimes its easier to be a landlord when your tenants are basically someone elses belongings.  So, you will not get the calls in the middle of the night about a clogged commode or maybe a heat and air unit that has frozen up. 

According statistics as of 2019 early 10% of the United States population now rents a storage unit to store thier belongings.  And, as home prices increace and the value of space in the home grows, it will make more since to rent a garage size space than construction costs would be to add a room addition.  

Storage facilities provide a safe and secure way to keep those items that may be of use in the futrure as a family grows or ass the use of the items once again becomes needed. 

The Advantages

As mentioned before, when the tenants are more or less belongings there is a lot less likleyhood of having common complaints one might have with apartments or even home rentals. 

There is also likely to be a lot less common repairs required.  The storage facility owner can sleep peacefullyin knowing there will not be any late night calls about a clogged commode or a leaky faucet.

Also, storage facilities maximize the property.  With apartments, units valuable property is taken up with non producing driveways, sidewalks and parking.
